It is geared toward the younger grades, so exploration is encouraged through projects using acrylic paint, watercolors, 3-D paper projects, Air dry clay sculpture, line work with markers, experimenting with painting on canvas, and more. I don’t teach students to “copy” me, but to investigate and develop their own style. I give them the tools and techniques to be able to make their own individual, creative art on their own when they are finished with my class, as well as skills to take into the next level of art classes as they grow.
Remote Learning Model: Each class will be online via Zoom, with full class participation. I will record each Zoom lesson so that students can go back and repeat lessons or get more practice. It will also be available to students who missed class on the day it was held. How much parent involvement will there be? Depending on your child’s abilities, you may need to help set them up with the paints, water, or clay at the start of class.
Materials: I have put together a kit which includes absolutely everything that will be needed for the 12 classes in the semester, including acrylic paints, brushes, watercolors, markers, glue and gloss medium, air dry clay, special paper, and other necessary items. There is an extra materials charge for this class of $40 to cover the cost of the kit.
*Note: Continuing students already have their kit (with their paints, brushes, markers, etc) and will only need to pay for supplemental materials that will be needed to complete the projects for this semester.

Every student can be a ukulele player! This course serves as an introduction to the instrument and will provide students with instant success making music on the ukulele. Focus points will be strumming and rhythms, reading music, and improvising. This course is also a great way to kick start kids into learning musical instruments. The ukulele is a lot easier to learn how to play starting out than the piano or guitar. Students that start with ukulele will find that they can learn other instruments a lot faster as a result.
