ENGLISH/LANGUAGE ARTS

Alphabet and Phonics Fun

Grades K-1

Each week, we will focus on a letter of the alphabet. Going in alphabetical order, we will cover letters in the second half of the alphabet, N-Z (We covered A-M in the Fall). Each class will be very fun and interactive. We will learn the sound of each letter, learn proper penmanship, practice blending simple words, read books that start with the letter of the week, and do a craft that goes with the letter. At the end of 12 weeks, the students will come home with their very own “scrapbook” with a craft from each letter of the alphabet N-Z. If your child was in my class first semester, he/she can combine the two scrapbooks to make one with all 26 letters

of the alphabet.
